    Aug/13 Obituaries

    SANTOS R. GARZA

    #Santos Garza, 73, of Brownsville died Aug. 12, 1995 at the Brownsville

    Medical Center. The lifelong resident worked at Valley Ice and Fuel Company at

    the Port of Brownsville until retirement.

    He was preceded in death by his son, Santos Garza, Jr. in 1978; two brothers,

    Camilo Garza and Martin Garza; his mother, Juanita Reyes Garza and father,

    Sabas Garza.

    Survivors include his wife Guadalupe Garza of Brownsville: four daughters, Eva

    Chirinos of San Benito, Emma Cerrillo, Elvira Delgado and Irma Rangel, all of

    Brownsville; two sons, Jose Garza and Juan Garza, both of Brownsville; a

    sister, Josefina Lopez of Brownsville and five brothers, Sabas Garza, Jose

    Garza, Noe Garza, Juan Garza and Jesus Garza, all of Brownsville. He is also

    survived by 35 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

    Funeral arrangements are pending. A prayer service will be held Sunday, 7:30

    p.m. at Trevino Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jesse Guerra officiating.

    Visitation will start at 11 a.m. Sunday at Trevino Funeral Home.

    MARTHA JOSEPHINE

    KLINGER

    (BELLINGHAUSEN)

    #Martha Klinger, 83, of Brownsville died Aug. 12, 1995 at Valley Regional

    Medical Center. The lifelong resident owned and operated Pan American Nursery

    and was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis for most of her married

    life. She was founder of the charitable organization, Martha's Cupboard, which

    operates our of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Brownsville. She was

    chosen as Notable Woman of Texas in 1984 and 1985.

    She is survived by her husband, Joseph Anthony Klinger of Brownsville; two

    daughters, Tracy Birmingham of New Jersey and and Mary Helen Valle of San

    Antonio: two sons, Chuck Klinger and Frank Klinger, both of Brownsville and a

    brother, Robert Bellinghausen of California.

    She is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate

    Conception Cathedral with Rev. Pasquale Lanese. Rosary will be recited Monday,

    7 p.m. at Darling-Mouser Funeral East Chapel.

    Burial is at Buena Vista Burial Park.
