Couple arrested at bridge in connection with murder of Houston area teacher
A man and a woman wanted for questioning in a murder case in Wharton County have been arrested while crossing back into the United States through an international bridge, according to a press release by Texas Department of Public Safety.
Monica Perez, 24, and Michael Moreno, 23, were arrested Saturday evening and charged with hindering apprehension. They were flown to Wharton County on Sunday, DPS said.
DPS is still looking for 21-year-old Ramon Vega of Wharton County, also for questioning in the same murder case.
Texas Rangers and Wharton Police were looking for all three in connection with the murder of Heladio Rojas Perales, 35, who was found dead in Fort Bend Bounty inside his SUV on Thanksgiving morning.
