Gas price average down a penny in Mass.
BOSTON - The average price for gasoline has dropped slightly this week in Massachusetts week after increasing last week for the first time in a month.
AAA Southern New England says its latest survey found regular unleaded selling for an average of $2.68 per gallon at self-service stations in Massachusetts, a penny lower than a week ago.
The average price rose three cents a gallon in last week's survey, after remaining stable for much of the summer.
AAA says the current price in Massachusetts is seven cents below the national average of $2.75 per gallon, and five cents higher than it was a year ago at this same time.
