Neighbor accused of attack on 93-year-old Terrell woman

TERRELL, Texas (AP) - A female neighbor has been arrested over the severe beating of a 93-year-old Terrell (TER'-el) woman in the victim's home.
Police early Friday booked 49-year-old Mona Lacretia Medlen of Terrell on charges of aggravated robber and unauthorized use of a vehicle. Bond was $275,000.
A bond officer, who declined to give his name, told The Associated Press that Medlen remained in the Kaufman County jail. He had no information about an attorney for the suspect.
Wynell Bourns was attacked Tuesday. Her 1999 red Ford Taurus was found the following day in an alley behind a church.
Police believe the attack, which landed Bourns in a Dallas hospital ,was linked to a home invasion and robbery.
Terrell is about 30 miles east of Dallas.
