Gang slaying leaves 2 brothers dead

FRESNO, Texas (AP) — Fort Bend County sheriff's deputies say two brothers were found shot to death in what's suspected to be gang related slayings.

Chief Deputy Craig Brady said Roberto Hernandez and Jose Hernandez were found Monday morning in the eastern part of the county.

One victim was discovered in a green four-door car that apparently swerved off the road into an empty home site in a new neighborhood in Fresno. The other body was about a mile down a private dirt road.

Brady said deputies have confirmed that Roberto Hernandez was a figure in the Southwest Cholos street gang. Deputies suspect that his gang connections might have played a role in the double slaying.

Brady said it appeared they were shot several times with different weapons.
