Arrests made in connection with Sunrise Mall shooting
Brownsville Police detectives have arrested two in connection with a shooting at Sunrise Mall in January, Brownsville Police spokesman J.J. Treviño said.
Ulises Bab Perez, 19, and a juvenile face charges of unlawfully carrying a weapon.
One man was shot in the arm outside of Dillard's department store at the mall in the evening on Jan. 8.
Treviño said Perez and the juvenile came to the mall that night with stolen weapons they were going to sell to three individuals unknown to police.
After a disagreement, one man was shot but his injuries were not life-threatening. Police have not yet said who they believe shot the man.
In the days following the shooting, investigators questioned several individuals but made no arrests.
Treviño said police expect to make one more arrest today.
