Brownsville Heritage Council appointed two new members at the Brownsville City Commission meeting on July 3.
Brownsville Historical Association Executive Director Priscilla Rodriguez will replace Leo Garza as planner.
Garza was recently hired as a City employee therefore making him ineligable to be a member of the Heritage Council. Leo Garza is currently serving as the Assitant Director of the Permitting Department.
Rodriguez will serve on the board for one year.
Mark Clark, owner of 409 Gallery, replaced David Zimmerman who moved out of state. Clark will serve as an alternate in a two-year term.
Clark and Rodriguez were selected through the Heritage Council’s nomination committee.
Heritage Director Peter Goodman believes Clark and Rodriguez are adequate for the position.
“It’s hard to find people who are very qualified for these positions,” he said.
