Ludicrous policies at local post office
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Editor:
The older I get the more I dislike the direction we're heading to, mostly the small stuff that makes a person's life less stressful.
I recently went to the Los Ebanos post office location to buy "forever" stamps. This total came to some $114.80, I tendered my credit card and was asked for ID. Then was told they could not accept my credit card since it was not "signed."
I explained that all the experts on identity theft recommend that you simply put the initials "CID" where the signature would normally be located, so that a proper ID would be requested. But, alas, not the illustrious post office, which increases prices regularly and reduces service and puts a cloud on good customer relations at the same time.
A supervisor backed up the clerk. I left and went directly to H-E-B, bought my stamps, swiped my card and was on my way - NO ID required, just the credit card approval.
I went on www.usps.com and found that I can purchase stamps with a credit card, no ID, and delivered to my home for a $1 "handling" fee (of course), and delivered by the same postal employee who comes to my home every day anyway.
Ludicrous! Ludicrous, to the nth degree.
