SAN JUAN - Police arrested a 30-year-old man Sunday night after he allegedly got drunk, argued with his teenage stepson and, then, dragged the boy for almost two blocks with his car.
Felix Pardo faces charges of intoxication assault and driving while intoxicated stemming from the incident which occurred just before 11 p.m. on the 1700 block of Calle Tulipan, near the intersection of Ferguson Avenue and “I” Road.
His 15-year-old stepson sustained only minor injuries and has been released from the hospital, San Juan police Investigator Rolando Garcia said.
“Apparently, they were having some sort of argument,” he said. “And the kid got caught in the door.”
Investigators are still unsure how the teen ended up partially wedged in the vehicle but said a witness tried to flag down Pardo to alert him to the boy’s injuries.
After his arrest, Pardo blew a .13 on a Breathalyzer test - nearly twice the legal .08 blood-alcohol limit.
Pardo is expected to go before a judge later this afternoon for an arraignment hearing.
If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
