More ‘Nunsense’ at the Camille Playhouse
Comments 0 | Recommend 0“Nunsense II: The Second Coming” premiers tonight at the Camille Playhouse with performances on March 8,9,14,15 and 16 to follow.
“Nunsense II” is the sequel to last year’s production of “Nunsense” by musical theater writer Dan Goggin.
Goggin has written seven different productions featuring the comedic exploits of a group of nuns who decide to put on a talent show, though they have little talent to speak of. “Nunsense II” takes place six weeks after the plot line of the first “Nunsense.”
“It’s got great music and lots of audience participation,” said Ben Agresti, the show’s director. “There are group sing-alongs and bingo and the actors are frequently with the audience.”
Agresti said that he decided to do the first sequel to the original production after a positive audience response last year. Four out of five of the cast members will be the same as those in last year’s show.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and $5 for children. Friday and Saturday shows will be at 8 p.m. and Sunday shows will be at 2:30 p.m. For more information, call (956) 542-8900.
