MARIA DE LA LUZ LOPEZ
Maria De La Luz Lopez, 69, went to join our Lord at his house on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville.
She was a Hanna Band Booster Club member. She worked as a cashier at Fishers Café for 10 years, as a merchandise pick-up clerk at Montgomery Wards for 22 years, Friendship of Woman for one year, and as a volunteer at Valley Baptist Medical Center- Brownsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose A. and Virginia F. Lopez; two sisters, Concepcion Youngkin and Josefa L. Castro; and a half-brother, Manuel Barrera.
She is survived by her son, German De Los Reyes (Kristin); two granddaughters, Aubrey Danielle Ramos, and Emma Virginia De Los Reyes; four sisters, Anita H. Rodriguez, Julia L. Diaz, Veronica Bellville, and Berta L. Sanchez (Armando) and one brother, David Lopez (Mel).
Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at Our Lady of Good Counsel. Burial will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Bellville, Jose Felipe Diaz, Richard Bellville, Derick Ivan Diaz, Armando Sanchez Jr., and JJ. Bellville.
