Now-ex Fort Worth postal worker gets prison over theft

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A now-former postal worker in Fort Worth has been sentenced to 15 months in federal prison for embezzlement.

Prosecutors say 49-year-old Marion A. Lester also must pay more than $108,000 in restitution.

Lester was a window clerk at the Jack D. Watson Post Office.

Investigators say a 2003 review found Lester had been observed pocketing cash from sales and making false entries in postal service records to cover the theft.

Lester in August pleaded guilty to misappropriation of postal funds.

He must report to prison by Dec. 28.
