Mr. Jesus Ascención De León

Mr. Jesus Ascencion De León, 67, beloved brother and uncle entered into the glory of his eternal life on Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville.

A native and lifetime resident of Brownsville, Jesus worked side by side with his father at the family’s furniture refinishing and upholstery business. He was a lifetime parishioner at Immaculate Conception.

He was a loving and devoted son, brother, and uncle who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Mr. De León was preceded in death by his parents, Gaspar Mata De León and Rosa Sierra De León and 2 sisters, Delfina Cisneros and Antonia Davila.

Left behind to eternally treasure his memory are his eight sisters: Maria Guadalupe (Juan) Caballero, from Gault, CA, Matilde Martinez, from El Paso, Texas, Rosa De León, Maria Elena De León, Olivia Josefina Gonzalez, Maria De Lourdes (Jose) Medina, Dolores (Juan) Gracia, and Evangelina Alcala, all from Brownsville, Texas; five brothers: Gaspar (Paula) De León, Carlos (Rosa) De León, Humberto (Ninfa) De León, Lorenzo (Juanita) De León, and Jose Angel (Hinelda) De León, all from Brownville, Texas. He will also be missed by his numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation and a rosary service were held on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 1 p.m. today, Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:30 p.m. this evening in the West Chapel of Darling-Mouser.

The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Humberto Cisneros, Henry De León, Humberto De León, Jr., Louie De León, Manuel De León, Gustavo Medina, David Gonzalez, and Pedro Salazar are honored to be serving as Jesus’ pallbearers. Jesus’ numerous nieces and nephews together with the Davila Family will serve as honorary pallbearers.
