Viewer misses Larry James

Editor:

I read the newspaper every morning to begin my day. I read June 12 about Larry James being "pushed out the door." This is really a shame because I grew up with Larry James and I respected him (and still do).

Why is it that TV decides who is in and who is out? Larry James has been a respected name for many years! He is the icon of Channel 4!

People nowadays are so careless when they are making decisions without thinking about the public. The public is the one to decide. We now have new people on TV who are broadcasting the news and do not know how to mention El Dorado or other Spanish names out there! This is ridiculous! I have wanted to call the news station and tell them to get their act together and speak correctly!

Hurricane season is here and I for one will greatly miss Larry James! I listened to him. I will always remember him as being the best chief weather forecaster out there. Wherever you are, Larry James, God bless you and your family, and do not forget the Valley!

Now, let's sit back and watch how many times the new people of Channel 4 mess up their words while broadcasting the news. Let's hope a hurricane does not fall in the Valley and we know nothing about it because Larry James was not here to keep us informed!

Zone behind wall a reimbursement

Editor:

Has anyone thought as to why the Wall of Liberty is being placed so far from the Rio Grande? Well, let me make this educated comment to enlighten the public.

Many years ago America took so much land from Mexico that now we feel guilty as to how we took the land. No ands or ifs about it, we took it all, gave no mind to the people who lost so many acres; America just took it.

Well now, because we feel like thieves in the night, our government said it is about time we return some of the land back to those who used to own it. Sad to say most of those folks are now deceased.

So now you have the rest of the story. Do not complain, it will do you no good; we must right a wrong and this is the best we can do.
