War is inhumane
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Editor:
Warfare is such an inhumane action
That leaves its effect in human lives.
It assumes that the side that kills the most
Wins - so bad for children and wives.
I remember a battle that I watched
In Korea, just across a narrow valley
In which thousands of rounds were fired.
It seemed, at the time, not equally.
After fifty-five years I learned
That we lost one hundred thirty-two,
But the enemy lost many more so
We were named the victor - it's true.
What a silly way to value human life,
"The side that kills the most wins."
But think of the families at home,
Grieving for the lost, both now and then.
Lord, deliver us from such foolishness.
Let us value human lives more.
Let us think long before we act,
Leaving our soldiers on distant shores.

America turning away from God
Editor:
I am reading the Old Testament and learning why God destroyed the "Nation of Israel" and scattered His chosen people. In time they disobeyed and forgot God. They lost their nation more than 2,500 years ago. It was partially restored in 1948.
The United States was founded by people who believed in the Bible and desired to be obedient to God's laws. We became a very great nation with freedom for all.
I see the USA turning from God and not to God. We have allowed the destruction of more than 30 million unborn babies. We prohibit the Ten Commandments from being shown on government property. We do not allow the Bible or the Word of God in our public schools, no more prayer at a football game, just a moment of silence, whatever that means. Also, the legalization of sodomy is an abomination to God according to Leviticus 20:13.
We sing "God Bless America," but I believe America needs to start blessing God or America might someday cease to exist.
I hope I am wrong.
