Hockey Capsules: Coyotes re-sign RW Lee Stempniak to 2-year deal
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Phoenix Coyotes have re-signed right wing Lee Stempniak to a two-year contract.
Details of the contract were not released.
Stempniak had 14 goals and four assists in 18 games with the Coyotes last season after he was traded from Toronto. He scored 28 goals and had 48 points in all last season.
Stempniak has 96 goals and 113 assists in 374 NHL games.
Rangers sign Tim Kennedy
NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Rangers have agreed to terms with free agent forward Tim Kennedy on Monday.
The 24-year-old had 10 goals and 16 assists last season with Buffalo in 78 games. He also had a goal and two assists in the playoff for the Sabres.
Kennedy, who was a rookie last season, was a two-time team scoring leader at Michigan State and won the NCAA title with the Spartans in 2007.
