Mary Lou had an eventful life. She was as equally thankful. Her favorite camping site was Sam Houston State Park and Forestry near Huntsville, Texas. She also enjoyed attending and helping out with soccer, baseball, tennis and fishing. While her sons played little league and pony league baseball Mary Lou could be seen in the dug out keeping score for her husband, Johnny. She also helped keep the kids in proper batting order. Mary Lou also traveled throughout the State of Texas with her sons in their tennis competition. She can be fondly remembered as a tennis mom for she loved the game.

Mary Lou was always there to help those who were in need. She touched the hearts of many. Her heart was filled with compassion, love, and laughter. She met no stranger. She loved meeting new people and was blessed with a wonderful personality and a great sense of humor. She will be missed very much but we know she will be in a beautiful place called Heaven.

Mary Lou worked in the insurance industry for several years and later worked many years with Texas Commission for the Blind and retired from Texas Rehabilitation Commission. Both latter kinds of work had their great rewards for Mary Lou as she met and assisted so many consumers in so many different walks of life. She would stop at nothing in order to help someone as attested by the numerous cards of "Thanks" sent to her supervisors by the consumers. At Texas Rehabilitation Commission she was known as "Mrs. Betty Crocker". Mary Lou had a passion for baking and taking her baked "goodies" to the office for everyone to enjoy.
