Bertholda G. Garcia, 82, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 1, 2009, at Valley Regional Medical Center-Brownsville.
Mrs. Garcia was known to everybody as "Doña Bertha." She worked for Levis Strauss for more than 30 years. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Tranquilino Gamez and Petronila Castillo.
She is survived by her children, Teresa (Juan V.) Garcia, Flor Estella Roman, Mirna (Tomas +) Quintero, Jose T. (Olga) Garcia, Luis Armando (Iselda); grandchildren, Xenia, Tomas, Ivan, Erica, Dagoberto, Ileana, Xochilth, Armando, Ivan; great-grandchildren Steven, Valerie, Alejandro; brothers, sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
A chapel service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
Committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
