Bridge attentions focused wrongly
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Editor:
I read Mr. Rolando Sanchez's letter to the editor printed Sept. 17 and wish to show my respect for his recent loss of a relative.
Crossing the border at the B&M Bridge was a smooth operation for him and not time-consuming. His encounter is the exception, not the rule.
Many have been harassed and delayed for hours without just cause or need. Some have had to file complaints. Complaints can be filed by Internet at http://www.dhs.gov/trip or by mail at:
DHS Traveler Redress Inquiry Program (TRIP)
601 South 12th Street, TSA-901
Arlington, VA 22202-4220.
Although the U.S. Constitution has been ignored by many in government we at least can file complaints. And I suspect they are not ignored.
One of my worries is that tons upon tons of illegal drugs are available in every city in the USA and I am sure the man-hours that are wasted in harassing those who travel from Matamoros to Brownsville is not the source.
They are probably being smuggled into the country in airplanes and ships.
They are brought in by the tons. It is hurting our children. When are we going to stop this act of terrorism and make our streets drug free?
