Tony Dorsett to speak at IDEA gala and auction
Comments 0 | Recommend 0EDINBURG -- Football legend Tony Dorsett will speak at IDEA Public Schools' Carpe Diem Gala and Auction Friday.
Dorsett, who was inducted into both the College and the National Football League halls of fame in 1994, will receive the Leaders in Education Award for his work in improving education for children in under-served communities, according to a news release the charter school district sent.
The event, in its second year, will be held at the 4E Estate Hotel in Edinburg. All proceeds go toward helping students who graduate from IDEA College Preparatory with college expenses.
