Cannabis use noted in Bible
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Editor:
Rev. Adam E. Zuniga got an arrow-splitting bull’s-eye (“In cannabis we trust,” Feb. 4); in fact nine pounds of cannabis (kaneh bosm) are in the holy anointing oil in Exodus 30:23.
One reason to stop persecuting and caging humans for using the relatively safe God-given plant cannabis that doesn’t get mentioned is because it is biblically correct since God indicates He created all the seed-bearing plants, saying they are all good, on literally the very first page.
The only Biblical restriction placed on cannabis is that it is to be accepted with thankfulness (see 1 Timothy 4:1-5). And “But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?” (see: 1 John 3:17). Jesus Christ risked jail to heal the sick.
Further, cannabis is believed to be the tree of life and the very last page of the Bible tells us the leaves of that tree are for the healing of the nations.

Bill Clinton is more thug than politician
Editor:
At one time I believed Bill and Hillary Clinton were victims of a right-wing conspiracy. However, during this year’s Democratic primary elections, both have exposed themselves as to who they really are: ordinary, common politicians.
Bill Clinton at this point is in a difficult position by virtue of a couple of things: (1) he is in a position to be the nation’s first gentleman; (2) he’s the first former president to be married to a presidential contender.
However, during the primaries, Mr. Clinton has behaved more like a thug than a former head of state.
There is nothing wrong with flaunting his wife’s qualities. There is something very wrong when he disparages the qualities of others. He has done this consistently in his outbursts during the primaries.
I think Mr. Clinton is better than just a hatchet man, although at this point he has shown a deficiency in his personal behavior by making comments that are simply false. What is ironic is how Mrs. Clinton embraces his pit bull-style with smiles and hugs.
I’m sure there are other ways to bridge a divided nation and to improve political discourse. Obviously, the Clinton’s political campaign is to simply roll in the mud.
