Alfred Basler Jr.
Comments 0 | Recommend 0On Tuesday, March 27, 2007, Alfred Basler Jr., 80, entered into eternal life to be with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was a native of Brownsville who was employed as a federal meat and seafood inspector for more than 20 years. After his gov-ernment retirement, he worked as a building contractor and land developer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Catherine Basler, and his grandson, Daniel Basler.
A 1947 Texas A&M graduate, Mr. Basler is survived by Patricia Basler, his wife of 55 years, and their three children: Kathleen (Ronald) Stover, Paul Basler and David (Laura) Basler. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; his sister, Emma (Robert) Bol-linger; and a brother Walter (Ruth) Basler.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial gifts in Mr. Basler’s name be made to First Baptist Church, (for Matamoros Missions) 1600 Boca Chica Blvd., Brownsville, TX 78520.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2007, and continue through 8 p.m. at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. A Cele-bration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2007, at First Baptist Church. The graveside service will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
