ALTON - The driver involved in an accident that killed two of his relatives Sunday morning turned himself in to police this afternoon.

Luciano Vallejo allegedly lost control of his red 2006 Ford Mustang about 2:30 a.m. Sunday along 6 Mile Line Road, said Enrique Sotelo, Alton assistant police chief.

The accident threw two of Vallejo's passnegers from the vehicle when it struck a brick fence near the intersection  Los Ebanos Road, police said.

Vallejo, 23, was formally charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter and one count of intoxication assault during an arraignment Monday afternoon in Alton Municipal Court. Judge Jaqueline Lefevre set Vallejo's bond at $90,000 for the three felony counts.

Slain in the accident were Felipe de Jesus Gaytan Gallardo, 24, and Victor Manuel Gaytan Gallardo, 18. The two men resided in a colonia near Alton, the assistant police chief said.

The Gallardo brothers were in-laws of Vallejo, police said.
